Interview with L.V. Lane

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. To start off the week we are sitting down with multi-genre author L.V. Lane. Please enjoy this author interview, we sure did. Happy reading. 🙂

Interview

Please introduce yourself.
My name is Liv Lane, and I am a former English expat who now live in Brisbane, Australia.

What genre do you write?
My current published work is dark sci-fi, paranormal, vampire, Omegaverse mash-up.

What are your favorite hobbies?
I love walking in a forest or nature setting. And I also enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m a stereotypical writer in that I pretty much spend all my spare time writing, or doing writing-related stuff! But when I can drag myself away, I enjoy a good sci-fi or thriller…and I love dining out.

Do you have any kids, pets or both?
No children, but I have two burmilla cats (they look like little snow leopards) and I dote on them.

Are you a pantser or plotter?
Ah…I’m a bit weird in that I can be both. Some books I’ve planned, and some books I just write.

Do you write with a notebook and pen or go straight for the computer?
Both. If I am out or get an idea I can jot sentences or bullets, or even draft a whole scene in a notebook or on my phone notes. But I also sit at my PC and tap it out that way without any pre-work.

What do you like to write about?
Escapism. And the joy of creating something that did not exist before. There is a great deal of satisfaction when you complete a book. Particularly with sci-fi / fantasy / dystopian where you create entire worlds and cultures as well as the people to live there.

Tell us about your latest book?
My latest book is the final installment of the Deviant trilogy, and we see the conclusion of Lilly’s story. It’s a MFM and in the first two books we got to know her two Alpha Controllers, Ethan and Ryker…the third installment is action-packed but we get our HEA.
Is your book in a series?
It is part of the Controllers series, which is a dark, sci-fi Omegaverse.
If you are not familiar with Omegaverse there are a lot of takes on the genre, but mine is built around virally altered humans. There are thirteen viral-induced dynamics, Alpha through to Mu, and Omega. Each dynamic offers different physical and physiological benefits: intelligence, strength, memory, natural leaders or followers, or heightened skills such as mathematics or art.

Who is the main character? Tell us about them.
Lilly is a doctor and formerly the viral research Program Director before she revealed as an Omega. She is unusual for an Omega in that she retained a position on the viral program after she revealed her Omega dynamic. She is passionate about her work, confident, and determined to avoid any kind of entanglement with an Alpha. Which she was managing admirably until her homeworld came under attack…
Ethan is brimming with dark, Alpha control. He looks like an avenging angel, but he’s savage to the core.
Ryker is her other Alpha Controller and he has several psychopathic traits, or ‘psychological anomalies’ as he prefers to call them. He’s good at ‘faking’ normal, and he lives by the line his therapist provided as guidance on acceptable behavior. And while he thinks he doesn’t understand love, he would die to protect Lilly.
Individually they set Lilly’s world on fire, when they are together, it’s an inferno.
My readers love Ethan, but I’m going out on a limb here, and say I’m team Ryker.

What should we watch for in the coming months?
Book 6 in the Controllers series is being drafted and will be released before the end of the year.
I also have a light Sci-fi romance that I’m hoping to release in November
What would you like to say to your fans?
A huge thank you for all the support and the wonderful messages I get via various social media and reviews. I am still new to writing romance, and only published my first book in April this year. There are days when you get a tough or scathing review and it can be crushing, but the support of readers keeps me motivated to make my scratchings public 🙂

About L.V. Lane

51ZwlZaxNmL._US230_I love a happy ever after, although sometimes the journey to get there can be rough on my poor characters.
An unashamed fan of the alpha, the antihero, and the throwback in all his guises and wherever he may lurk.

Taking Control

415Rs9Z7BWLAs an Omega, Eloise soon discovered what it meant to be the lowliest dynamic. That it was worse than being ordinary. And that she would be allocated to an Alpha. A Controller.
Some Omegas were psychic, and like bloodhounds, were excellent trackers of people. Eloise was one such Omega and was tasked with locating a missing diplomat in possession of secret research—the means to destroy the virus.
The virus had not hosted for her parents. They wanted no part of that world, considered it ungodly and corrupt and feared for her mortal soul when they discovered she had revealed as an Omega.
Should she help to retrieve the missing research and perpetuate the divide, or let it fall into enemy hands where it might be eradicated forever?

Author Interview with Michelle Edwards

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you are having a fun weekend. To get things started off for this amazing weekend we are sitting down with Paranormal and Contemporary Romance author Michelle Edwards. Check out her author interview below.

Interview

Please introduce yourself.
I’m Michelle Edwards and I’ve been writing my whole life. I got into writing more seriously in 2010. I’m the wife of an Army veteran, a dog mom, a travel agent, and a municipal liaison for NaNoWriMo. I love Orca’s. I’m a coffee, tea and wine girl in that order.

What genre do you write?
I write paranormal and contemporary romances with a focus on military.

What type of fantasy creature would you want to be?
It’s cheesy, but a vampire. The idea of being able to live through different centuries and watch the world change is intriguing.

What types of movies do you like to watch?
I don’t have a specific type of movie I like. A few of my favorites are Ten Inch Hero, National Treasure, Fast & Furious, & Harry Potter.

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?
Author wise I see myself with more than a dozen books published and a bestselling author. Personal wise I see myself as a mom and hopefully traveling more.

What type of genre do you like to write the most?
I think I like the paranormal the best. You can do almost anything you want with it. There are so many different things I can do in some of my novels when I write paranormal.

Do you write for a target audience or do you just write because? Why?
I write because I love it. I want to share my stories with anyone who will read them. The best thing I can receive is someone telling me that they love something I wrote.

Are an indie author, hybrid, or traditional?
I would say I’m considered an indie author. I do go through a small indie publishing company.

Tell us about your latest book?
My latest published book is Broken Souls. The story follows Ellie and Derek. Two souls who are both broken. Derek is former Army who takes ownership of his father’s bar that Ellie is the head waitress.

Is your book in a series?
Yes. Broken Souls is a novella in the Haven series. The Haven series is by multiple authors and the books can be read in any order.

What type of creatures are in your books?
In my Hunting the Night series books I have many different types of creatures. Witches, ghosts, vampires, angels, demons and some surprise creatures. I have a series that will be released called Midnight Defenders, those creatures are something special. They are a new type of paranormal creature.

What should we watch for in the coming months?
In November 2019 you can see the prequel to the Midnight Defenders series in The Curse Anthology. February 2019 you can catch Orange Glazed Attraction.

What would you like to say to your fans?
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and supporting me. I hope you love what I have coming soon!

Author Interview with Nicole Zoltack

Happy Friday everyone! To start of the weekend right we decided to sit down with Epic Fantasy author Nicole Zoltack. Check it out below and her books too.

Author Interview

Please introduce yourself.
Hi! I’m Nicole Zoltack, a USA Today Bestselling author. I adore mixing romances with the fantastical and am a *little* prolific.

What genre do you write?
Epic fantasy, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, fairy tale retellings…

Tell us a fun fact about your life.
I’m a brown belt in karate.

What are your favorite hobbies?
Reading, watching TV and movies with hubby, spending time with my kids (three boys, one girl, and another one on the way!)

What do you like to do in your free time?
See 3 and 4. lol

What gets your creativity going?
Anything and everything! Reading and watching shows and movies can inspire me. I’ve had dreams that have been so vivid that have sparked ideas, and I love to play the “what if” game.

Are you a pantser or plotter?
Plotter. I used to be a pantser to the point that if I figured out the climax before I was ready to write it (I’ve always had to write chronologically) then I would abandon the story. I have several Nano projects that are stuck at 50K that I’ve basically abandoned. Now, I’m a plotter, and I write much faster with an outline.

Do you write with a notebook and pen or go straight for the computer?
Straight for the computer, but I’ve found that if I’m stuck, pen and paper always helps to get me unstuck.

Tell us about your latest book?
My latest book is called Age of Dragons. It’s set in an epic fantasy world divided into six kingdoms, and five other authors are writing in the world with me. The overall series is called Stones of Amaria. Each week, there will be a new release. In total, each author will have a four-book series in the world.

My kingdom features dragon riders because, seriously, who doesn’t love dragons?

Tell us about the villain of your book?
Ah! He’s only vaguely mentioned in my first book so I can’t give too many details about him yet, but he’s evil. He has a silver tongue, and he wants power and revenge.

Who is the main character? Tell us about them.
The heroine is Nicai Bright. Like all dragon riders, she’s a warrior, and her life changes when she spies a dragon fall out of the sky. Something terribly wrong is happening, and she’s bound and determined to figure out the source.

What should we watch for in the coming months?
The Stones of Amaria series! Later on this month, I’ll be releasing the last book in my Magical Hunters Academy series, which I have so enjoyed writing. After the academy, I’ll be writing a different trilogy, this one about a supernatural bounty hunter.

I also have an epic fantasy series under N. M. Zoltack that is somewhat GRRM-esque. The first three books of seven are already published. If all goes well, the last four will be published before the new year.

What would you like to say to your fans?
Thank you for trusting me to transport you to another world, and I hope you enjoy my writing! I write for you.

What genre do you write?
Speculative Fiction: Fantasy and Magical Realism mostly, with hints of Paranormal and Sci Fi.

What type of fantasy creature would you want to be?
One of my first choices would be a Phoenix, because of the fiery renewal metaphor; perhaps a roc, the literature of that region in which it first appears holds some kind of magic for me.

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?
I have 3 books to finish and publish. There are many more on my to do list. I hope to use feedback from my readers to help create stories that appeal to them.

What types of movies do you like to watch?
The last movie I truly enjoyed was Black Panther; anything richly conceived, few R rated make my list.

What type of genre do you like to write the most?
Slipstream

Are an indie author, hybrid, or traditional?
At this time, I bill myself as an Indie.

Do you write for a target audience or do you just write because? Why?
I started out writing for fun and challenge. Recently, since I have had trouble finding modern authors that I like, it is also from a sense of contribution.

Is your book in a series?
Fantastical Tales from the Lady’s Quill is a stand-alone short story collection.

What type of creatures are in your books?
Dog and bird spirits, magical cats, an invented beast of burden, humans with supernatural abilities, a dragon with a chip on his shoulder, a ghost, some aliens, angels and more.

Tell us about your latest book?
Fantastical Tales from the Lady’s Quill is a short story collection with the underlying themes of freedom and being set free. They are placed chronologically when they were written, so Redemption is the first story I wrote.

What should we watch for in the coming months?
What is close to ready-for- publication is a children’s picture book, fantasy-educational. Next is a book of poetry and a novel.

What would you like to say to your fans?
Please contact me to let me know what you would enjoy reading. It would also be great to know thoughts on Fantastical Tales from the Lady’s Quill. My Patreon page will give the viewpoint from which I write.

The Book

TheBeastWithinFinal-FJM_Draft2Digital_1600x2400From moonrise to moonset, the beast will rule.

Caleb’s family had a secret. One they’d held for over 300 years. One he’d reveal to save one woman’s life. Because she was the other half of his soul, even though it was her kind who condemned him to be the beast he was.

Lissette knew her family had secrets. What family in New Orleans as old as hers didn’t have family legends, most she disregarded as nonsense. Until she came across something leaving her no choice but to believe. Especially, when it meant her life… or his.
